Manchester United have been told Brighton manager Graham Potter would be a perfect pick for the Old Trafford dugout next season.
Having watched their Premier League title dreams thrown into tatters by the November break, United sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and appointed Ralf Rangnick as interim manager, initially until the end of this season when he will move upstairs into an advisory role.
United continue to peruse over longer-term coaching options and Manchester Evening News reported on Monday that plans have developed to potentially make a permanent appointment before the summer.
Mauricio Pochettino (PSG) and Erik ten Hag (Ajax) are viewed as two front-runners in that regard.
Speaking on Soccer Saturday, pundit Paul Merson waxed lyrical about an alternative option - Potter - and that has since been backed up by talkSPORT regular and ex-Premier League man Jamie O'Hara.
Merson said: "I'm a big fan of his. I think he plays brilliant football. If I was Man United, I would be watching Potter. With the way they play their football, they haven't got the quality of Man United players. They play great football. I would be monitoring him. I'd be thinking, why not go for him?"
During an his latest appearance on talkSPORT this afternoon, O'Hara added: "Graham Potter would be perfect for Manchester United.
