Denis Zakaria says he is looking to emulate Manchester United star Paul Pogba after he completed a move to his former club Juventus in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move all last month before he finally signed for the Serie A giants for a fee of €4.5million plus another €4.1m in potential add-ons.
Zakaria had also been touted as a potential target for United in the winter break, rumours which were initially sparked by the arrival of German coach Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis.
The Manchester Evening News revealed last month that the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder had been monitored by United but that they did not expect to make a move for him.
Zakaria will now be looking to take Italy by storm after completing his move to Turin and he has set himself the target of emulating Pogba's success at Juventus.
At a press conference, Zakaria said: "We all know Pogba, we know what he did and left to Juve. I hope to have the same success he did, but I have my identity and I hope to find my path and leave my mark.”
When asked to describe his style of play the Swiss international told United exactly what they had missed out on in the January transfer window.
He added: “Juventus are a strong team, with a lot of quality, I think arriving here compared to Germany is a great step forward for me, I hope to be able to progress too.
“Describe my characteristics? I am aggressive, I love to recover the ball, but also to defend and help, I can describe myself as a fairly complete player.”
