Prince Harry has accused King Charles of blocking his dream career path as a young man.
The Duke of Sussex made a number of shocking allegations against his royal relatives in his bombshell memoir Spare, one of which was that his father had destroyed his future ambitions.
The dad-of-two revealed that as a young man he had his eye on several careers, none of which his dad had ever approved of.
The 38-year-old had originally wanted to work at a ski resort, more specifically at the fondue hut in the centre of an Austrian village called Lech am Arlberg, before he more seriously considered becoming a ski instructor, the Express reports.
In Spare, he wrote: "For several years I'd talked in all seriousness about working at the ski resort in Lech am Arlberg, where Mummy used to take us.
"Specifically, I wanted to work at the fondue hut in the centre of town, which Mummy loved.
"That fondue could change your life. (I really was that mad.) But now I told Pa I'd given up the fondue fantasy, and he sighed with relief."
The duke claimed that the monarch was far from impressed with his younger son's alpine career ambitions and steered him away from it.
However, he alleged that the then-Prince Charles continued to shoot down his alternative career suggestions too.
Writing in his tell-all memoir, Prince Harry said: "I was taken with notions of becoming a ski instructor… Pa tensed again."
Noting his Dad’s disapproval, he added: "Out of the question. OK. Long pause. How about… safari guide?"
He then claims Charles replied: "No, darling boy."
