Prince Harry reportedly has to ask for permission from Buckingham Palace if he wants to stay in a royal home when he’s in the UK next month.
The Duke of Sussex has a charity awards ceremony on September 7 in London ahead of the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games in Germany.
Harry hasn’t been in the country since May 6 when his father King Charles was crowned. He and wife Meghan Markle were forced to hand back the keys to their Frogmore Cottage home in June.
The Mirror reports that though he’ll be here on the eve of the anniversary of the Queen’s death, he will not be seeing Charles or William, due to the increasingly rocky relationship between them since Harry’s revelations in his tell-all memoir Spare which was released earlier this year.
The Telegraph is reporting that if Harry wants to stay on a royal estate, he’ll have to as permission but he could alternatively stay at a hotel or with friends.
It comes after it was confirmed the Duke of Sussex has “no intention” of seeing his family when he’s in the UK. Harry is not understood to have spoken to his brother in months and has had little contact with his father.
Sources claim there are no plans for a public event or get-together to mark the Queen’s death, although members of the royal family are set to go to Balmoral for their summer holidays.
There had been speculation that Harry and King Charles would meet when Charles leaves Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire, where he’s spending the summer, ahead of an official trip to France.
The King and wife Camilla are expected to mark the Queen’s death privately at Balmoral, where she died, while William and Kate will be in Wales.
