A motor was branded a 'death trap' by police after the driver was pulled over on the M80 for allegedly driving without insurance or an MOT.
The caddy was stopped on the motorway near the village of Haggs in Falkirk on Friday, November 4 by Forth Valley Road Policing officers who had been hunting the van for some time.
It is understood the vehicle had not had an MOT since December 2021, and had failed previous MOTs for 'major defects' dating back from March this year including a non-functional headlamp and stop lamp, and an insecure battery.
Photos taken at the scene show the integral body structure of the vehicle has significantly corroded, and appears extremely rusty.
The motor also appears to have suffered a detached and cracked leaf spring, which affects suspension, as well as deterioration to its brake hose. Cops have confirmed that the van has been taken off the roads following the damning discovery.
The male driver was reported for numerous road traffic offences including no insurance, no MOT and dangerous conditions.
