Man dies after police incident on M8 in Glasgow sparking ‘unexplained’ death probe

Police have launched an ‘unexplained death’ probe after a man died in hospital following an incident on the M8 in Glasgow.
The 52-year-old was found near the busy motorway at around 7.55pm on Sunday, November 21, after emergency services were called to the scene.
He was rushed to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
His death is currently being investigated by officers but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal as is the case for all sudden deaths.
It is understood that the man was found near the roadway in the Royston area of the city.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of concern for a man found near the M8 in Glasgow around 7.55pm on Sunday, 21 November. The 52-year-old was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but was pronounced dead a short time later.
“His death is being treated as unexplained but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
