Paul Scholes has criticised Jadon Sancho for not being sharp from the off-set against Sevilla and owed it to a lack of preparation in the dressing room.
Manchester United walked into the lion's den on Thursday and left all chewed up as they were destroyed 3-0 and knocked out of the Europa League 5-2 on aggregate. Despite Sevilla's struggles in La Liga, they were extremely confident going into the second leg after coming from two goals down to draw the opening fixture at Old Trafford.
Sevilla are the kings of the Europa League having won the competition a record six times and fueled by that belief, the supporters created an incredible, intense and intimidating atmosphere inside the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. The crowd were only encouraged to get even louder when Harry Maguire gave the ball away after just eight minutes to allow the hosts to take the lead.

But Scholes believes there were signs even before that early blunder that United had not prepared themselves for the occasion or the atmosphere in the right way. Instead of remaining composed and looking to take the energy out of the crowd, United only encouraged them with early mistakes and loose touches.
The United great singled Sancho out specifically for not being ready. "We saw how hostile the crowd were before the game," Scholes told BT Sport. "Sevilla were so aggressive and you’ve got to give them credit. During the warm-ups we were eulogising about the crowd and saying how aggressive and hostile it was.
"When the United players see and hear that they need to go into the dressing room and think, “I need to be ready for this and my first touch has got to be ready.
