New helicopter footage has revealed search teams continuing in their rescue mission to find missing British teenager Jay Slater.
The 19-year-old from Lancashire vanished on Monday morning (June 17) after reportedly walking off into the mountains alone. It is thought he stayed at a remote Airbnb north of Masca village, nestled in the vast mountainous landscape.

Sunday (June 23) marked the seventh day of gruelling searches, that has seen drones, helicopters, fire crews and search dogs alongside mountain rescueteams deployed in a desperate bid to locate him.
The Civil Guard, the authority leading the search and rescue operation, has now released brand new footage of the ongoing efforts, that are focusing on a 30km wide area encompassing three “treacherous” and “dangerous” ravines.
Dramatic camera footage shows helicopters hovering over the dramatic landscape, with members of mountain rescue teams combing through mass undergrowth and meeting at the search base, around half a mile north of Masca, to map out their next move.
Throughout Sunday morning, search teams attempting to locate the British teenager also narrowed their efforts on a small hut close to the area where Jay’s phone is last said to have “pinged” before it ran flat.
Officers from the Guardian Civil could be seen circling two structures at the bottom of a steep ravine in the Rural de Teno Park. The efforts appeared to be solely focused on the new area following days of scouring the local village and surrounding landscape.
