Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Netflix has picked up a sex-advice talk show from “E!’s Nightly Pop” host Zach Noe Towers as its latest addition to its SiriusXM channel Netflix Is a Joke Radio. Airing biweekly on Thursdays on channel 93 beginning June 15 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, “After Hours with Zach Noe Towers” is described as “a funny, sexy, one hour radio show where no topic is too taboo and no story is too raw…as long as it gets a laugh.” Per Netflix, “In each episode, Zach will bring listeners into his own erotic escapades, welcome special guests to share their sexual journeys, and take calls to give their best advice on everything from one night stands to epic orgies to sexy souvenirs (STIs). Grounded by Zach’s signature blend of sex-positive humor and well-mannered midwestern upbringing, the show will help make conversations around sex more accessible and fun.”

Netflix has greenlighted an Italian edition of its hit rap competition Rhythm + Flow, following in the wake of the hit U.S. original and the successful French version Nouvelle École which is now in its second season.

From human cloning research to a scandalous downfall, the documentary tells the story of Korea’s most notorious scientist Hwang Woo-suk. Armed with a degree in veterinary science and a masters and doctorate in theriogenology, the study of animal reproduction, Hwang’s rise to prominence started with his successful cloning of cows and pigs. In 2002, Hwang embarked upon human cloning research and partnered with Moon Shin-yong, an obstetrician with expertise in in-vitro fertilization. Their collaboration led to a major announcement in 2004, claiming the successful cloning of human embryos, with the potential to cure some diseases. Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor Shares of Netflix jumped more than 10% Thursday on news that the streamer had signed up almost 5 million customers for its ad-supported plan within six months of launch. At Netflix’s first-ever upfronts event Wednesday — held virtually — the company touted that it had signed up nearly 5 million global monthly active users following its initial introduction in early November 2022. About 80% of viewing by subscribers on the ad plan is on a TV, and the median viewer age of 34, according to the company. In addition, Netflix said more than 25% of new customer signups are now choosing the ad plan in the 12 countries where it has been rolled out, including the U.S.

Six months after the landmark debut of its ad-supported subscription tier, Netflix said the plan has hit 5 million monthly active users globally.
