Hundreds of thousands of Tax Credit claimants will receive the £300 Cost of Living Payment from today (November 10).
It comes after millions of benefit claimants already received the tax-free payment from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). However, those who receive benefit payments from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) only have had to wait slightly longer to get their extra cash.
Today's payment marks the second out of three rounds of planned Cost of Living Payments for this tax year which will be worth a total of £900. According to the government, the final payment will be made "by spring 2024 for most people" with no solid date yet being announced.

Mel Stride, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, said: “The best way we can boost bank balances is by bearing down on inflation, but as we get there, we are ensuring the most vulnerable households are cushioned from high prices with a further Cost of Living payment."
In order to be considered eligible for today's Cost of Living payment, you must have received a payment for an eligible benefit during the qualifying period between August 18, 2023 and September 17, 2023. Eligible benefits include Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit.
However, not every Tax Credit claimant will get their £300 payment from today. According to the government, payments will continue to be rolled out until November 19 which gives just over a week of waiting.
