‘Shucked’: How Actor Kevin Cahoon Found a Rare Nudie Suit for Premiere of New Broadway Show (EXCLUSIVE)

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor Actor Kevin Cahoon donned a famous Nudie Suit by iconic tailor Nudie Cohn to the Broadway red carpet premiere of “Shucked.“ The decorative rhinestone-covered suits — made famous by Elvis, Hank Williams and Post Malone — were on loan to Cahoon, who plays Peanut in the show, from Nudie’s Rodeo Tailors in Hollywood. The musical is filled with catchy numbers and, as the title suggests, is about corn. It’s set in the fictional Corn Cob County, a small-town Southern haven surrounded by… corn. “‘Shucked’ is a brand new, completely original, rhinestoned, star-spangled, American musical with its roots planted firmly in the country, its heart celebrating all of the Nashville greats that have come before, and I am in it,” Cahoon tells Variety. “What in Cob County do you wear?”

‘Unstable’ star Rob Lowe’s son ‘not surprised’ by his racy past, traumatized by dad’s shirtless scene

Being in the Hollywood spotlight for decades, Rob Lowe’s son John Owen is not fazed by his father’s scandalous past.  During the red-carpet premiere of Netflix’s "Unstable," created by Owen, he revealed whether he was shocked about his dad’s wild side.  "Was I surprised? No, I mean… I've known him my whole life…it all makes perfect sense to me, it's the truth, and that's all I'm going to say about it. It makes perfect sense," he told Fox News Digital.  Lowe had a sex tape when he was 24 with two women, one of whom was underage, and Owen discovered the scandalous news from a classmate.  His dad’s sex tape is not the only thing that has traumatized Owen.  He confessed his dad’s shirtless scene in "The Outsiders" has left him with some vivid memories.  "It's a wonderful film…we had to watch it in seventh or eighth grade, and I was left with every girl in my class for like a week after talking about my dad's shirtless scene," he said.

Lisa Joy Says Writers’ Guild Acting for ‘Collective Good’ in Potential Strike, Details Why ‘Westworld’ is Even ‘More Relevant’ Today

Manori Ravindran Executive Editor of International Lisa Joy, showrunner of “Westworld” and “The Peripheral,” says the Writers’ Guild of America is “acting for [writers’] collective good” in its negotiations with studios, even if it could potentially lead to a strike in May. Joy, who runs production company Kilter Films, is being honored at French TV drama festival Series Mania this week. She took part in a keynote conversation on Wednesday, at which she quipped that a strike will mean “more time with my kids.” “It’s a little stressful because I’ve reached a point where I can manage without work for a while,” said Joy. “As it is, we have shows coming out and we’re in the editing process. We have a rotation of shows that aren’t dependent on writing at the phase they’re in. But I always stand by the decision of the Writers’ Guild — I know they’re acting for our collective good.”

Jessica Alba Avoided Hollywood Predators by Creating an ‘Armor of Masculine Energy’: ‘I Was Really Tough. I Cursed Like a Sailor’

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Jessica Alba said on a recent episode of HBO Max and CNN’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” that she adopted a more masculine persona as a teenager and young adult in Hollywood in order to deliberately avoid being preyed upon by various Hollywood predators. Alba started acting at age 13 and landed her breakthrough role as Max Guevara on Fox’s “Dark Angel” when she was 19 years old. The James Cameron-created series made Alba both a feminist TV icon of the early 2000s and a sex symbol. “I guess I understood that I needed to help sell the product,” Alba told Wallace when asked if it bothered her how the media objectified her as a sex symbol. “And they sell it how they do so I understood it as a business decision and a strategy. And so I was able to distance myself from it. But I guess, you know, you can’t change other people’s minds about what they may or may not think of you. I don’t think that there’s anything wrong with owning your sexuality. I just frankly was definitely not that person. I was very nervous about all of that, and I was quite uncomfortable in my own skin.”
