The Met Office has provided its prediction for when the UK will finally see a picturesque summer.
It comes after July was recorded as one of the wettest in over a decade. Met Office meteorologist Jonathan Vaultrey said: "A few brighter spells are trying to poke their way through and particularly as we head into the afternoon - south west Wales into south west England could see temperatures climbing more towards 20C, 21C.
"Overall, Tuesday is a slightly calmer day, particularly in terms of wind speeds, but there will be some showers around at times - easing out into the afternoon and certainly into the evening for parts of Wales and southern parts of England."
The Met Office forecaster continued: "Temperatures will be holding between 19C to 23C for UK on Tuesday." The prospect of 23C sunshine will please many, and Mr Vaultrey adds: "And where we do see sunnier spells just trying to poke through into the afternoon hopefully that will allow for a slightly more pleasant feel of things."
