Spotify, along with Meghan and Prince Harry's audio production company Archewell Audio released a joint statement on Thursday night, which said they had "mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together." Meghan, 41, and Harry, 38, signed a reported $20million deal with the streaming giant, but a source has claimed that the couple "did not did not meet the productivity benchmark required to receive the full payout," according to the Wall Street Journal.
OK! has contacted Meghan and Harry's reps for comment. Meghan's Spotify podcast looked at the "labels that try to hold women back," and the Duchess of Sussex made sure to rope in some big celebrity names, including Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton and Serena Williams, as guest stars.
The podcast ran for 12 episodes from August 2022, and it saw Meghan chatting to celebrities, historians and experts about the history of stereotypes levelled against women.The joint statement from Archwell and Spotify said: “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.” Harry and Meghan signed a lucrative deal with the audio streaming giant to host and produce podcasts, estimated to be worth around 25 million US dollars (£18 million), in late 2020. In December, Archetypes won the top podcast award at the People’s Choice Award in Los Angeles.
