Martin Lewis has a word of advice for shoppers after Amazon kicked off its Black Friday sale early.
The 10-day sale has gotten a head start with a slew of offerings across the retail giant's website. Whilst the financial expert's Money Saving Expert is covering the deals, he urged customers to not be "tempted".
Martin took to Twitter, formerly X, to issue the warning before "taking a social media break" this weekend.
The MSE founder wrote: "Amazon has launched its Black Friday offerings, my team have been through to try and sort deals from duds... https://moneysavingexpert.com/deals/amazon/#55226…
"PS remember only buy what you planned to, don't let it tempt you just because its cheaper."
The warning comes after Martin doled out some shopping advice in a segment of his annual Christmas special. The episode, which aired Tuesday, featured five pieces of advice, the first of which was his two-word rule to save money: "Walk away."
Martin explained that many shops will later email you a discount to sweeten the deal. He said: "Abandon your shopping basket all ye who enter. Log in, put the stuff you want in your shopping basket and walk away."
The financial guru also recommended shopping comparison sites and buy 'more' to save on delivery online. Echoing his message on X, Martin also cautioned against 'buy now pay later' schemes unless planned as they encourage spending.
Finally, Martin urged viewers to "beware giving gift vouchers" as he says cash is safer and more flexible.
