Manchester United have been handed a boost in the pursuit of one of their summer transfer targets, according to reports.
It is understood that the club are gearing up to announce the appointment of Ajax boss Erik ten Hag as their new boss in the coming days. He will know he has an overhaul task on his hands when he finally arrives at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman may wish to bring personnel from Ajax with him ahead of his debut season. He is supposedly a big fan of winger Antony.

The 22-year-old has netted 12 times and set up 10 more for Ajax this season. He is reportedly being circled as one of Ten Hag’s first United recruits.
And now, the Sun claims that the Dutch outfit will be willing to let their wideman go. However, their £50million valuation must be met first in order for them to consider an offer.
Meanwhile, the Telegraph reports that the Old Trafford hierarchy have been given a boost in the race for Darwin Nunez. The Benfica striker is enjoying a stellar season having netted 33 times this season.
He has made it known that he wants a move to a European giant, which has put the likes of Liverpool and PSG on alert. Newcastle were also said to have been keen but the source says the 22-year-old has rebuffed their interest, outlining that he wants to play in European competition this season.
United are still pushing for Champions League qualification. Failure to secure a top-four spot would make it difficult for the club to persuade Nunez to sign.
