In the past decade Manchester City have made signings that have defined a generation of mostly dominance in the domestic game.
Ederson, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero are just some of the players who have signed in the last ten years and helped hoover up English football's silverware.
Yet on deadline day, City's highly praised transfer acumen seems to go out of the window.
Trying to pick out good deadline day signings at the Etihad is similar to trying to find a needle in a haystack. It is no surprise therefore that Pep Guardiola likes to do his business early - the day must be cursed.
Nevertheless MEN Sport has taken a look at some of the transfer deadline day signings City have made over the past ten years.
Only one name stands out as a signing worthy of being labelled as a good deadline day transfer.
Matija Nastasic joined City for less than £14m in the August deadline day of 2012 and in 51 appearances for the club he won the Premier League and League Cup.
The centre back has since looked upon his time at the Etihad fondly and while he perhaps did not pull up as many trees in comparison to some of the signings City have made in the past, his efforts for the club should not be forgotten.
Nastasic was sold to Bundesliga side Schalke before he rejoined Fiorentina in August last year.
Unfortunately there are many more candidates that fit this list but we have managed to narrow it down to three.
Javi Garcia was signed on the same deadline day as the aforementioned Nastasic but despite his glowing reputation from his time in Benfica, the centre half underwhelmed.
