Lorraine Kelly has candidly hit back at a Twitter account that was monitoring her TV absences, as she discussed the impact of her fame on a the latest edition of BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. The account in question, entitled Where is Lorraine? using the handle @LorraineKWatch, regularly updates its followers on Lorraine’s appearances on screen, and describes itself as a “Satire account tracking Lorraine Kelly's attendance” so fans will know whether she is appearing on her flagship show Lorraine or not.
Yet despite the light hearted nature of the account, Lorraine admitted it wasn’t always helpful as she told Woman’s Hour: "The amount of space I occupy in people's heads is quite bizarre. It's hilarious.
It’s fine, I don’t mind, I don’t care. I probably would have cared before, but I really don’t now, it’s absolutely fine." She then shared the heartbreaking reason for her absence, saying: ”To be honest… you should never comment on things like that if you don’t know what’s really going on in people’s lives.
But I am having to take quite a few Fridays off, because my mum’s really not well.” In light of the interview and the reason behind her absence, the account has since reached out to Lorraine to explain that they had never intended any harm or ill will behind the tongue in cheek account, as they insisted it had been "all for fun” Linking to the interview in a recent tweet, @LorraineKWatch wrote: "It feels apt to say now that of course we respect that Lorraine may need more time away to look after her mother.
