The directing and writing assignment had been some of the more sough after jobs in the industry after Netflix announced in February that they were partnering with video game holding company Take-Two Interactive and its game publisher subsidiary, 2K, to produce a BioShock film. Brent Lang Executive Editor of Film and Media DDA is making a series of key hires and promotions. Ryan Langrehr recently joined the entertainment communications company as U.S. head of awards, based out of Los Angeles. He joins from Block-Korenbrot Public Relations and will work alongside DDA partner Dana Archer and awards strategist MJ Peckos, who formed an exclusive partnership with DDA in 2021 and collaborated on a slate of films in the international and documentary category. These included Spain’s “The Good Boss” and Germany’s “I’m Your Man,” both of which were shortlisted for international feature Oscars.  The DDA L.A. awards offering is a complement to the company’s existing U.K. awards business, which it says will offer studios and filmmakers a “cohesive strategy across both sides of the Atlantic.” The U.K. offering is led by Sam Ross in his newly upped role of director of awards, and his team works closely with DDA partner Neil Bhatt. In recent years, the DDA U.K. awards team has handled AMPAS and BAFTA campaigns and delivered successful campaigns for features, documentaries, animated movies and shorts. Angelique Jackson Ryan Gosling is in talks to join Margot Robbie in Warner Bros.’ new “Ocean’s Eleven” reboot, Variety can confirm.After co-starring as Ken and Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming “Barbie” movie, Gosling and Robbie have made plans to team up again for the franchise reboot, directed by Jay Roach. Carrie Solomon wrote the script for the film. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the prequel story is expected to take place in 1960s Europe, far away from Las Vegas, where the Rat Pack-starring original film — released in 1960 — and the George Clooney-fronted trilogy of the early 2000s were based.

Puck, which first reported the news, the new film is “it is known to be an ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ prequel that is set in Europe in the 1960s.” Gary Ross, Olivia Milch and Lucky Chap’s Josey McNamara are the executive producers. Also involved in an executive producer capacity is Village Roadshow which may also co-finance the project.The film is being eyed for a 2023 spring production start.Robbie is currently in production on a “Barbie” movie with Gosling for the studio based on the iconic toy, where she is headlining in the title role and producing.

Ryan Gosling is in talks to star opposite Margot Robbie in the new Ocean’s Eleven film, which four-time Emmy winner Jay Roach (Bombshell) will direct for Warner Bros., Deadline can confirm. The project follows Gosling and Robbie’s recent work together on Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film for the studio, which has the former playing Ken.
