Ross Kelly was a familiar face from ITV's This Morning for those who used to watch in the 1990s. He joined as a cover presenter and co-hosted on Fridays during the period when the popular daytime show was presented by Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan. Ross, now 61, left This Morning after 3 years and joined GMTV presenting alongside Fiona Phillips and Lorraine Kelly.
GMTV has since been replaced by today's Good Morning Britain while Lorraine fronts her own self-titled show. He returned to This Morning for a presenting stint in 2000, 22 years ago, and has only been spotted on TV a couple of times since then, cropping up as a quizmaster on property-based gameshow Whose House and also on Lily Savage's Blankety Blank in 2001. Ross has evidently walked away from TV but is still friends with his ITV daytime colleagues having been last spotted 8 years ago at a party held by Lorraine Kelly in 2014 looking rather different to how viewers might remember him 22 years ago.
Ross was photographed in a smart suit and sporting a grey beard but still with the twinkle in his eye that ITV viewers loved him for. There have been no sightings of Ross in public since then making him somewhat of an enigma. Prior to his TV career, Ross gained a degree in Literature and Language from the University of Edinburgh.
He started his journalism career at Central Television before joining Lookaround. Richard, 66, and Judy, 74, departed This Morning at the peak of its powers in 2001. Many presenters have taken a turn at the wheel since then including current presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby who came under fire this week after it appeared they had jumped the queue to pay their respects to Her Majesty the Queen who died on September 8.
