Liam Gallagher claims his fourth UK Number 1 album with C’Mon You Know.
C’Mon You Know becomes Liam’s eleventh Number 1 album across his career to date, with over 70,000 chart sales shifted in its opening week. C’Mon You Know is also the highest-selling record on wax of the week, shifting chart sales of over 29,000 to top this week’s Official Vinyl Albums Chart.
This follows the success of Liam’s three previous solo chart-toppers As You Were (2017), Why Me? Why Not. (2019) and MTV Unplugged (2020), as well as his seven Number 1 studio albums as part of Oasis. See Liam’s full Official Charts History here.
This means Liam now draws level with brother and former bandmate Noel Gallagher, with Noel having also notched up eleven Number 1 LPs spanning Oasis and his current solo project Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
It’s proving to be a huge Bank Holiday weekend for Liam. Not only will he perform two sold-out shows Knebworth (almost 26 years after Oasis famously played the iconic venue), but he also boasts a second simultaneous new entry inside the Official Albums Chart Top 5; live album Down By the River Thames, debuts at Number 4 this week, and Number 2 on the Official Vinyls Chart.
Speaking to OfficialCharts.com, Liam Gallagher says: “What do we have here? Another Number 1 record brothers and sisters! Thanks to everyone whose bought C’mon You Know and Down By The River. I’m buzzing, you’re very kind. Thanks everyone and I’ll see you again”.
Elsewhere, Def Leppard enjoy their first Top 5 album in 26 years with Diamond Star Halos (5). The Sheffield rock quintet’s twelfth studio album becomes their highest-charting since 1996 release Slang (also 5).
