Kym Marsh has issued a devastating update 15 years on from the tragic death of her son, Archie. The 47 year old welcomed the newborn with her ex husband, former Hollyoaks star, Jamie Lomas on 11 February 2009. However, Archie arrived 18 weeks early, and sadly died just moments after he was born.
To honour her son on what would have been his 15th birthday, Kym has shared a heartbreaking tribute with her 612K followers on Instagram.
The former Coronation Street star posted a shrine like photo to her grid, which included a print of Archie's tiny feet, a candle with the initial 'A' on it, a cream box with an angel engraved onto it, and a framed photo with the letter 'A' printed onto a card. She accompanied the emotional image with: "15 years since life changed forever. 15 years of missing you, of loving you, of wishing we could hold you again.
Of wishing we could hear your laugh for the first time. Wishing we had heard your voice. Wishing we had got to see you play and run and enjoy your birthdays, as you so deserved to do.
"We will never have those things with you Archie but you live on in us all," she added. Kym then expressed how she plans to "celebrate" her son, and the "beautiful boy," that he was. She said: "We will smile at the thought of your face and we will hug each other as if from you." However, Kym noted that "this year is a little bit more special," as it also marks the first year without her father, David Marsh, who sadly died after a "long battle" with prostate cancer last month.
