Kate Middleton had to follow a strict rule after the birth of her three kids, especially Prince George, according to new reports.
The Princess of Wales was not allowed to tell her own parents and friends of her happy arrival due to royal protocol, which states that the current monarch must be informed of the birth of a royal baby before anyone else, including other members of the Royal Family.
In this instance, Kate and her husband Prince William had to inform the late Queen Elizabeth II of George's birth before anyone else.
The former monarch was said to be over the moon by the birth of her third great-grandchild on July 22, 2013 who was born at St Mary's Hospital in London, the Mirror reports.
Those in the delivery room at the NHS hospital in Paddington where Kate had her first child were also sworn to secrecy, reports claim.
It is believed that Prince William, who is now next in line to the throne after his father's demise, called his late grandmother from a specially encrypted phone at the hospital to announce the good news.
And, as is the case with any direct heir to the throne, the Queen also had to approve William and Kate's chosen name for George beforehand which is again part of royal protocol.
