It’s been a tough few weeks for Netflix. The streamer lost subscribers for the first time in over a decade and its market value took a battering, losing over $50 billion in one day after its disappointing first quarter earnings.

It’s been almost half a year since Netflix’s big flex. At the beginning of this year, the streamer unveiled its big 2022 teaser video, highlighting many of their upcoming films.

As studios meet in Las Vegas to present footage of there upcoming slates to exhibitors,  Netflix is showcasing there own slate of future feature films as it has unveiled its upcoming summer slate of original movies. Some of the films receiving new release dates include the Vampire thriller Day Shift starring Jamie Foxx, which is set to bow on August 12, the Kevin Hart-Mark Wahlberg comedy Me Time, bowing on Aug. 26 and the Dakota Johnson drama Persuasion, bowing July 15.  The streamer also confirmed dates of some highly-anticipated films that had previously been announced like the Adam Sandler sports pic Hustle, which bows on June 8, the Chris Hemsworth-Miles Teller Thriller Spiderhead, which bows on June 17 and most recently the The Russo Brothers next film The Gray Man, starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, which will premiere on July 22.

The streamer unveiled a first look at the Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg-starrer “Me Time,” which follows a stay-at-home dad (Hart) who finds himself with some “me time” for the first time in years.

Kevin Hart announced on Tuesday he is merging his Laugh Out Loud and HartBeat Productions to form HartBeat, a global, multi-platform media company. HartBeat launches with a $100M investment from private equity firm Abry Partners, which took a minority investment in the new company. As part of the deal, Abry Partners partner Nicolas Massard will be joining the HartBeat board.

Kevin Hart’s two entertainment businesses, HartBeat Productions and Laugh Out Loud, are merging into a single comedy-centered entity called Hartbeat.

The film stars Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson in a mix-up comedy in which a New York City screw-up is mistaken for the world’s deadliest assassin at an Airbnb rental apartment. It had previously been scheduled for theatrical release on August 12.

Netflix has acquired worldwide rights to Sony Pictures’ action-comedy The Man from Toronto, starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, Deadline can confirm. The film previously scheduled for release in theaters on August 12 will now bow on the streamer in all territories apart from China later this year.

The transfer falls under the exclusive first-look deal Sony signed with Netflix last year, on the heels of its notable windowing agreement with the tech giant in 2021.The film revolves around a case of a mistaken identity after the world’s deadliest assassin, known as the “man from Toronto,” (Harrelson) and a stranger, played by Hart, run into each other at an Airbnb. Chaos soon follows as the assassin’s world comes crashing down on Hart.

As tonight’s edition of Weekend Update came to an end, Saturday Night Live paid tribute to Taylor Hawkins, the longtime Foo Fighters drummer who was found dead in a hotel room in Bogota, Colombia on March 25, aged 50. While 10 substances were found in his system at time of death according to a “forensic medical study,” including THC, tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines and opioids, an official cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
