Jamie Carragher forced into U-turn with Manchester United transfer message on Cristiano Ronaldo

Jamie Carragher has admitted that Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has forced him to change his stance with his performances this season.
The Portugal captain scored his 24th goal of the season from the penalty spot as United eased past Brentford 3-0 on Monday night. Ronaldo has been under the microscope since returning to the Premier League, but has continued silencing his doubters. And Carragher admitted the United striker had proven him wrong this season.
"My thing with Cristiano Ronaldo is, what he’s doing at 37, he's 38 next year, it's unbelievable for a player at that age to be scoring goals," Carragher said speaking to Sky Sports. "Never mind scoring this many goals, playing for Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world at 37 — where do we see that?

"My problem has always been with Man United for buying Ronaldo. I don’t think one of the biggest clubs in the world should be buying someone who's 37 — he's still got 24 goals.
"I said after he was bought, he will get 20-25 goals but I don't think he'll get United any closer to the title. I’ve always been of the opinion that they should try and move him on, but right now, I might change that in the fact there's so many problems at Manchester United that Rangnick's talking about. If you’ve got Ronaldo, you’ve got someone up front with 20 goals — I need to sort midfield out, defence out, there's five players leaving on a free.
"Going forward with what the new manager would want from his team. They need to bring strikers in, I think it's very difficult for a new manager... who do you bring in?
