Our favourite presenting duo, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have been at the heart of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! since it launched in 2002. While it's been on our TVs for two decades, viewers have been baffled over why the hosts always have their watches covered.
Viewers have questioned the reason behind wearing the watches but having the time covered up, with some suggesting it prevents light from reflecting onto the cameras. With live segments on the hit ITV show each night, the reason behind it has been revealed and it's not what you might think.
After an I'm A Celeb viewer took to Twitter, now X, to ask for the real reason, Ant replied on their joint account, which has a whopping 6.7M followers, "Who’s gonna explain????? A". One superfan cleared it up for everyone and wrote: "So the celebs/ camp mates don’t see the time." This led to further questions from viewers who asked: "Why aren't they allowed to see the date or time?".
Another questioned: "Why does it matter if they see the time? Or is that they have no concept of time, at all, during their time (haha) there??" It is thought this is for a similar reason as to why Love Island producers also hide the real-time from contestants and throughout the villa - so they can get the full experience and lose all sense of time. Former Love Islanders, Danny and Jourdan spoke to Capital about the change in clocks and said it left them "basically clueless".
Danny said: "Obviously we're completely unaware of the time, but there's been nights when we get into bed and the sun is literally coming up...
