Devastated friends have paid tribute to a Scots mum after her death from terminal cancer, following a five year battle with the disease.

Spending time with girlfriend Gemma Owen's famous footballing father Michael Owen must have rubbed off on Love Island's Luca Bish. The 23 year old former fishmonger has just signed to non-league football and will play for Sussex outfit Hailsham Town, marking his return to the sport.The football team posted a picture of Luca to their Twitter, saying that they were "delighted" at their new arrival.The post read: “Delighted to announce a new arrival at The Beaconsfield.

Purportedly the Czech Republic’s most expensive feature to date, Petr Jakl’s new “Medieval” portrays the same legendary figure in what’s anything but an old-school costume epic. Instead, this robust, assured enterprise offers a distant past in the brutally combat-driven action mode of “Gladiator” and “Braveheart,” its patriotic sentiments steeped in mud and blood. The economic realities for such a costly spectacular require a degree of formulaic creative decisions in line with current international audience tastes, while the casting of American and British actors in primary roles further waters down a distinctive regional character. Nevertheless, “Medieval” succeeds as a lively, handsome chunk of history (however freely imagined), with nary a dull moment between densely-packed intrigues, chases and battles. The Avenue will release this English-language spectacle on nearly 1,200 U.S. screens Sept. 9, simultaneous with rollout in several other territories.

Officers investigating the alleged murder of former Scots teacher Peter Coshan, 75, have recovered a body in Northumberland. A man's remains were found on land close to the A696, near the village of Kirkwhelpington, on Sunday, September 4.

Bauhaus have cancelled their imminent North American tour and announced that frontman Peter Murphy is to attend rehab.The band were set to continue their reunion tour in the US and Canada next month, with dates beginning in Toronto next week (September 6).Now, the band have shared a statement via their representative, revealing that the dates that were set to form the band’s first US tour in more than 16 years are off.
