Jason Sudeikis Embraces Improv Skills On Stage As He Wins Third Emmy For ‘Ted Lasso’ Role

Ted Lasso fans soon will be able to take their devotion to a new level: The Emmy-laden Apple TV+ show — or, rather, its fictional English football club AFC Richmond — will be a playable team in EA Sports’ FIFA 23 video game.

Florence Pugh and Chris Pine, were noticeably absent from the New York premiere. The A-list Hollywood actors appeared to skip the event after they were dragged into the ongoing drama that surrounds the psychological thriller. Pugh is said to be locked in a feud with director Olivia Wilde after reportedly disapproving of the way she began a relationship with leading man Harry Styles during filming and while still believed to be in a relationship with ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis.

Jason Sudeikis won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the Emmys this past weekend, but after winning, said he was still not sure if Ted Lasso was coming back for another season.

The 74th annual Emmy Awards did not disappoint on Monday night, celebrating what felt like a year of particularly refreshing, innovative and polarizing television. Other winners included HBO’s “White Lotus,” which took home the most awards of the night, Netflix’s “Squid Game,” the first non-English language series to compete in the drama category, and Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso,” which took home the win for best comedy. The winners of this year's Emmy Awards, the most prestigious honours in television, have been announced. Succession, Ted Lasso, The White Lotus and Squid Game are among the shows that walked away with top awards.

While the creator has previously said that the Apple TV+ series would end with Season 3, he insisted at in the press room at the Emmys on Monday that he has no idea about the show’s future.“I think you’ve been misled,” he responded when a reporter suggested he, of anyone, would know best whether or not the show could continue beyond Season 3.

Succession, Ted Lasso and The White Lotus were the victors in their respective drama, comedy and limited categories at this year’s Emmy Awards. In total, the trio bagged 12 awards at Monday’s ceremony, including the big prize in their respective fields.
