For 23 years Chris Gascoyne has captured the hearts of the nation as Coronation Street ’s Peter Barlow, but the actor recently broke the hearts of fans everywhere when he revealed he was leaving the show to pursue other projects. Although the details surrounding the much-loved character’s exit are currently a closely guarded secret - and no word has yet been given as to whether or not the exit will be permanent, fans couldn’t help but feel the sting of losing one of the ITV soap’s most cherished characters.
Stepping away from the role, Chris will instead be turning his attention towards the theatre stage, when he performs as Captain Hook in The All New Adventures of Peter Pan at the Alban Arena between December 8-31. It isn’t all about work however either, as his break from Corrie also means he has more time to spend with his soap star wife, Emmerdale actress Caroline Harding at their chic home in Salford.
Although Chris has seldom posted too many glimpses of his home life on social media, fans have been treated to glimpses inside his stunning pad on a handful of occasions, most notably during the pandemic lockdown. In one snap taken from his home, Chris could be seen sporting a very vintage inspired look, as he posed alongside a chic collection of furnishings, including a cream sofa, and vintage style lamp positioned on a small console table.
In addition, a bookcase could be seen in the rear of the shot adorned with framed photographs and various ornaments, while a clothes airer added a touch of down to earth normality to the otherwise swanky pad.
