TV legend Dave Myers, one half of the Hairy Bikers, spent his last days with his best mate and "brother" Si King before his sad death at 66.
Dave was surrounded by his loved ones when he peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 28, after a long battle with cancer. The type of cancer he had wasn't revealed, but he did share that he was having chemotherapy in May 2022.
In his final days, the Strictly star spent time with his "best friend" and TV partner, Si. In a touching tribute on social media, his Hairy Bikers co-host shared that his "best friend is on a journey that for now, I can't follow".
He added that he would miss him every day and their friendship that lasted over half a lifetime.
Back in November, Si told BBC Breakfast that their 30-year friendship came naturally as they were "good mates" and part of each other's families. During the chat, Dave remembered how Si cooked him his favourite comfort food, mince and dumplings, while he was being treated for cancer, reports the Mirror.
The pair, famous for their beards and love of motorbikes, travelled the world together, tasting and cooking food from different places. Even though Dave couldn't always ride his motorbike during his fight with cancer, fans were thrilled to see them back on TV recently in the BBC's Hairy Bikers Go West.
Si has shared his grief following the death of his close friend via social media, posting a series of photos of Dave over the years and writing: "All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.
"Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can't follow.
