Idlewild have announced a reissue and 20th anniversary tour for their 2002 album ‘The Remote Part’ – get tickets for the gigs here and find all the details below.The new reissue comes on the back of the band celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2021 with a retrospective book and career-spanning UK tour.On July 15 – 20 years to the day since its initial release – ‘The Remote Part’ will be reissued on black LP, with the vinyl available to pre-order via Dig! now.Speaking to the website in an excerpt of a soon-to-be-released interview, frontman Roddy Woomble said: “Simply speaking, ‘The Remote Part’ is the most popular, commercially successful record that Idlewild ever made.“None of our other records achieved that level of popularity. Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds set to headline All Points East in London’s Victoria Park this summer, the festival has now announced the full schedule for the day.On August 28 Cave and his band will headline the final night of the Victoria Park festival. Ash have announced reissues of their ‘1977’ and ‘Free All Angels’ albums, as well as live shows for the latter with longtime guitarist Charlotte Hatherley.‘1977’, the band’s debut album from 1996, will be reissued for the first time on splatter vinyl on July 1, with 2001’s ‘Free All Angels’ arriving on September 16.The week the ‘Free All Angels’ reissue comes to shops, Ash will play three UK shows where they will perform the album in its entirety and be joined by Hatherley, who played with the Northern Irish rockers from 1997-2006 and reunited with them at London show last year.The gigs will begin at the O2 Ritz in Manchester on September 15, before the band play Birmingham’s O2 Institute (17) and the Kentish Town Forum in London (18).“We’re delighted to announce that we will be commemorating the 21st anniversary of the release of our 2001 classic, ‘Free All Angels’,” drummer Rick McMurray said in a statement. “Not least because we will be joined by the fourth member of Ash, guitarist extraordinaire, all-round Shining Light, the one and only, Charlotte Hatherley.

Elton John‘s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour and his early years has been announced.Co-directed by R.J. Cutler and the filmmaker and John’s husband, David Furnish, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances And The Years That Made His Legend will include an array of unseen concert footage from the past 50 years, as well as John’s handwritten journals and present-day footage of the musician and his family.A release date for the film has yet to be announced, but it is expected to get a limited cinema release before it comes to Disney+.“What a thrill and an honour it is that David Furnish and I get to create this intimate and unique look at one of the world’s most celebrated artists,” Cutler said in a statement via Rolling Stone.
