Nina Nesbitt announces new album, tour dates

Courteeners have announced that ahead of their headline performance at Y Not Festival next month, they’ll play a warm-up gig in London – get tickets here.Liam Fray and co. will headline the Derbyshire festival – held in the heart of the Peak District in Pikehall – on July 30, joining other headliners Stereophonics and Blossoms, who will perform on July 29 and 31 respectively.But before Courteeners headline Y Not, the band will hit the stage for a warm-up gig at Electric Ballroom in Camden, London on July 29.Announced today (June 29), tickets go on sale on Friday (July 1) at 9am BST – get tickets here.Courteeners will head across the pond this November for a string of US tour dates, marking the first time the band will have played there since Coachella in 2009.The US tour kicks off at Boston’s Brighton Music Hall on November 10, with the band heading to New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles ahead of their recently announced Corona Capital Festival appearance in Mexico City on November 18.

Alex G has announced a slew of 2023 tour dates across Europe and the UK.The 13-date tour begins March 16 in Dublin, and will include dates in cities such as  Manchester, Leeds, and Bristol. Meanwhile, the tour’s European leg begins in Amsterdam on March 25, and will wrap up in Paris on April 6.

Billie Eilish has added another leg to her ‘Happier Than Ever’ world tour, announcing six tour dates in Asia this August.The shows, announced today (June 23), will mark Eilish’s first-ever headlining shows in the continent. The singer had previously performed in Singapore, Tokyo and Osaka in 2018 as part of the Laneway and Summer Sonic festivals respectively.The new dates will take Eilish to cities across the Philippines, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Japan.

Paolo Nutini’s new album ‘Last Night In The Bittersweet‘.The legendary filmmaker is reportedly credited on the album’s opening track ‘Aftermath’, which features a sample of a passage from his 1993 film True Romance.A source told The Sun: “Paolo likes to make all of his music himself, but to have Tarantino’s name credited on your track is pretty cool.”Nutini previously sampled Charlie Chaplin’s speech from 1940’s The Great Dictator, which he used on 2014 song ‘Iron Sky’.Last month, the Scottish singer-songwriter announced his first album in eight years for a July 1 release. With it he shared two new songs ‘Lose It’ and ‘Through The Echoes’ and also unveiled another single ‘Shine A Light’ last week.Nutini was one of the support acts for Liam Gallagher’s Knebworth weekender last week alongside Kasabian, Fat White Family and others.

Hit musical The Lion King is to play for an extended run in Manchester - with bosses announcing a raft of NEW dates at the city's Palace Theatre. The show, based on the hit Disney movie, will run for an extra seven weeks to make it an epic run in Manchester from Thursday, 27 October right through to Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Rina Sawayama has discussed how she was inspired by the “fake stories” on Taylor Swift‘s ‘Folklore’ for her new album ‘Hold The Girl’.The singer’s follow-up to 2020 debut album ‘SAWAYAMA’ is due out on September 2, via Dirty Hit, and was previewed last month with the single ‘This Hell’.In a new interview with Rolling Stone UK about the album, Sawayama spoke of being struck by the way Swift told stories of other people on her 2020 lockdown album, moving away from the autobiographical work of her past.“I remember when Taylor Swift released Folklore, I was like, ‘This bitch is writing about fake stories and she just wrote a whole album. If she can do it, I need to do it,’” Sawayama said, revealing that it was too painful to write songs about her own experiences while going through therapy.Discussing how she wants to keep her personal issues out of her songs for the time being, the singer added: “For me, it’s important that the listener is able to listen to it as a pop record first without that background, [and] make their own feelings about it.

Beth Orton has announced that she will release her first album for six years, ‘Weather Alive’, later this year.
