Just as life appeared to be on a more even keel for former loan shark Gary Windass, the Corrie character has been spotted looking very shifty in dramatic new scenes being filmed for the soap.
The reformed Corrie villain, played by Mikey North, was seen in a compromising position as he appeared to be attempting to break into a construction site for the new Weatherfield County FC ground.
He looked rattled after being disturbed by a security guard on the site and told to sling his hook.

But in later scenes police and forensics swarmed the area and found a body at the building site.
Viewers will be left wondering if Gary's quiet life with wife Maria is about to come crashing down around him if police have discovered the body of his former boss Rick Neelan, who he murdered in 2019.
Gangster Rick, played by Greg Wood, terrorised the residents of Weatherfield for years.
Builder Gary turned to the dark side in the soap after owing Rick money and encouraged Underworld boss Carla Connor to spend £60,000 on the factory roof after a botched job by his late nemesis Pat Phelan.
When Carla refused in order to save cash because it would mean the closure of the factory for months, Gary took the matter into his own hands and sabotaged the roof, which killed Rana Habeeb.
In June 2019 Gary killed Rick, buried him in a shallow grave in the woods and pretended he'd gone on the run.
So far he has managed to keep this from everyone apart from Maria and his ex Sarah Barlow.
