Holly Willoughby vows not to let This Morning scandal and 'difficult' year affect her family

Holly Willoughby has vowed not to let her 'nerve-wracking' return to This Morning affect her family life at home.
The 42-year-old was back on screens at This Morning on Monday, September 4 after an extended summer break in Portugal with her family after the Phillip Schofield scandal. Phillip, 61, resigned from his long-time job at This Morning in May before admitting to an affair with a younger male colleague and cutting ties with ITV.
Following the incident, Holly has admitted it's been a 'difficult' year for This Morning but a source close to the TV star claims she's determined not to bring her anxieties home with her. The mother-of-three took an extended summer break following the scandal and enjoyed a holiday to Portugal with husband Dan Baldwin and their children.
The insider told Closer: “It’s been really tough for Holly with her nerve-wracking return to work. Her anxiety has been through the roof over the past few weeks and, while she’s tried her very best to plaster a smile on her face back on the sofa, it’s been incredibly difficult for her to keep it together.
“Thankfully, she’s come back from a much-needed summer break filled with quality time with her family and friends and that’s helped open her eyes to what’s important in life and helped her to put the critics in a box and keep going."
This comes after Holly failed to secure a nomination at the NTA's for Best Presenter, while co-star Alison Hammond went up against Bradley Walsh, Ant and Dec, Martin Lewis and Claudia Winkleman. In another snub, This Morning was booed at the award show and lost out on the Best Daytime Programme to The Repair Show.
