Kate Middleton has been dubbed as the only living person in the royal family that has a chance of saving the relationship between Prince Harry and her husband Prince William, with some suggesting she could offer an olive branch to her brother-in-law when he returns to the UK this week.
However, Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell believes that the feud between the brothers is still too "raw" for the Princess of Wales to be getting involved.
The ex-royal aide told the Mirror: “So much has been said and people have been hurt. And I don't think they can be mended right now, it’s going to take time.
“It's still raw and the royals are not easy and forgiving. When something happens they pull the drawbridge up and you can't get in.”
It was reported by the publication last week that the late Princess Diana would never have let the ongoing arguments between her two sons get so out of control.
But without Diana to guide her boys, Burrell believes that Kate is the only person left in the family who could possibly bring Harry and William back together.
He claims that "the only person that has a faint chance of reconciliation with the boys will be Kate" but he also believes that Kate won't particularly want to welcome Harry and Meghan back into the fold after all of their public criticism against her and other members of 'the Firm'.
The Sussexes previously claimed that Meghan faced racism in the family when she pregnant and that Palace staff failed to support her when she was experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Harry also created some tension between him and his sister-in-law after he claimed in tell all memoir Spare that Kate had made Meghan cry in the run-up to their wedding.
He wrote that he came home to find Meghan “on the floor”
