Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will likely get an invite to King Charles' 75th birthday celebrations later this year, according to one royal expert. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had a frosty relationship with the Royal Family since they stepped down as senior working royals in 2020.
The couple moved to Montecito, California, following their departure and have made multiple digs at 'The Firm' in the last few years. Royal expert Angela Levin believes that King Charles will offer an olive branch to his estranged son and daughter-in-law, in a bid to see his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet on his birthday.
The Monarch is reportedly planning a lowkey celebration with family for his birthday, but won't hesitate to tell the Sussexes to "get lost" if they demand an apology.
Angela told The Sun: “Charles would want Harry and Meghan’s children there. If Harry and Meghan want to make an excuse, that’s their decision.” However, she warned: “If Harry wants to go to get an apology, then he can get lost.”
She added that while it's unlikely Meghan and two-year-old Lilibet would take the trip over, Harry could travel to the UK with Archie as he is older. Angela said: “He could go on his own and bring Archie with him. He’s a big boy now, five, and he could see his cousins.”
There are no official plans released on how King Charles plans to spend his 75th birthday later this year, but it's thought that he will opt for a lowkey family affair.
"Charles is all about the public and not being extravagant. He really cares," Angela said. "There were parties after Harry and Meghan's wedding but it wouldn't be appropriate now. Times are hard and people are struggling."
