Despite the Sussexes' dramatic exit from the royal family in 2020, which was followed by their relocation to the US, Harry and Meghan still retain their royal titles.
After tying the knot in 2018, the late Queen Elizabeth gave them their titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which they still use to this day.
However, many have questioned why they have not been stripped of the styles, especially as they are no longer working members of the royal family, the Mirror reports.
Since quitting 'the Firm', they have made a number of shocking claims about their royal relatives which they have publicly aired multiple times - firstly during their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, then in their controversial Netflix docu-series followed by Harry's tell-all memoir Spare.
Relations are at an all time low between the Sussexes and the royals and the aftermath of these accusations are said to have brought about discussions of stripping Harry and Meghan's titles "at the highest level".
However, in an interview with Anderson Cooper on US TV while promoting his explosive memoir, Harry was directly asked why he and Meghan had chosen not to give up their titles after they made such a fuss about their treatment while in the royal family.
The duke gave a frank six-word response to the question as he asked: "And what difference would that make?"
Mr Cooper added: "One of the criticisms that you've received is that okay, fine, you wanna move to California, you wanna step back from the institutional role.
"Why be so public? Why reveal conversations you've had with your father or with your brother? You say you tried to do this privately."
Harry added: "And every single time I've tried to do it privately there have been briefings and leakings and
