Greater Manchester is facing heavy rain this morning with a Met Office weather warning in force for several hours. It appears autumn has finally arrived today (September 12), with the recent heatwave making way for downpours and more typical temperatures.
The region is currently being battered by rain, and the Met Office expects similar conditions throughout the morning. A yellow weather warning was issued overnight for rain, covering Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.
Parts of Lancashire, Yorkshire and the midlands are also affected. The Met Office says people in these areas should expect heavy rain with the potential to cause some flooding and disruption, particularly on the roads.
