Good Morning Britain viewers stunned by Cher's age as emotional appearance distracts fans

Viewers were left stunned when Cher gave her age away on Good Morning Britain. The superstar singer made a rare appearance on the ITV news programme on Monday (September 4) as Susanna Reid and Ed Balls returned to the helm fresh from their summer break.
Cher was on the programme via video link to issue an emotional plea about saving the elephants. The Believe and If I Could Turn Back Time hitmaker is a co-founder of Free the Wild whose aim is to free wild animals from captivity, put an end to animal trafficking and educate the world about the importance of wildlife.
Back in 2020, Cher successfully rescued an Asian elephant named Kaavan from awful living conditions in a zoo in Pakistan. She is now also hoping to save Billy the elephant from the LA zoo who at 38 years old has spent nearly his entire life there in captivity.

But Cher told how ignored pleas to help the elephants at first, telling Susanna and Ed: "I am just an entertainer." However, after meeting with a man called Mark, who had saved hundreds of elephants, Cher decided she needed to help. After saving Kaavan, Cher said: "I saved Kaavan because I couldn't save Billy and I am not giving up because it's a crime.
"It's really a shame because especially elephants. I mean, there are other animals too, but elephants' feelings are so apparent and so deep and they're they're not supposed to be alone. He had these marks around his ankles because he had been chained for so long that they were just rubbed raw."
