Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb is set to compete against the likes of Miles Nazaire and Amber Davies in the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice which returns in January. But the 52-year-old reality star admitted to OK! on the red carpet at Sunday's Pride of Britain Awards that he was already worried about his performances on the ice. "[I've got] absolutely no rhythm and no balance," he told us before the glitzy event.
"I start training tomorrow. I'm already two espresso martinis in, I'm stopping now, two was enough!".
The hairdresser and TV favourite was accompanied to the awards by his husband of five years, Daniel Lustig-Webb, who was dressed in a smart black suit with silver-threaded embellishing. Stephen was confirmed as the seventh DOI celebrity on the Lorraine show on Tuesday, telling the presenter he was due to meet iceskating royalty Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean for a skating masterclass.
"The last time I was on the ice, I think I was 14, so almost 40 years ago," he told Lorraine. "I have been back on the ice since just for a quick spin around, I didn't fall over, so that was a good thing! I’ve got a new appreciation for skating. "I can see how truly difficult it is.
From the comfort of my sofa, I was probably a little too judgey. I didn’t realise how hard it is!" The big move came just a month after Stephen and Daniel, who co-own a hair salon named Lustig and Webb, near Brighton, announced they were leaving Gogglebox, saying they wanted to "explore other opportunities". Stephen, who recently unveiled a major body transformation after hitting the gym, was on the show for a decade, joining as one of its original cast members in 2013 with his now ex partner Christopher Steed.
