Sancho, who was back at United's training ground on Monday, has failed to deliver the goods since joining the club in July 2021. It currently remains to be seen whether he will be included in the squad against Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Amid the ongoing speculation concerning his future and whether he will play any part against the Seagulls, Ferdinand believes Ten Hag will have to think carefully about the prospect of reintroducing him to the squad, insisting that he will have to be mindful of the message it sends to the rest of his players, should Sancho be drafted back into the equation.
