Manchester United have been told they must accept players have more power and that Jadon Sancho was right to call out the comments made by Erik ten Hag.
After defeat to Arsenal, the United boss was asked why Sancho was absent from the squad which travelled to North London. Ten Hag responded by saying the winger had not performed well enough in training to warrant a place.
Sancho took exception to these comments and responded on social media. He claimed the comments were 'untrue' and he had been made a 'scapegoat' at Old Trafford.
Rumours suggested Sancho could leave the club this month with Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq linked but a deal didn't materialise. Writing in his Daily Mirror column, former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes the Reds are looking to get rid of the Englishman sooner rather than later.

He explained: "I know it sounds a bit cynical, but I can’t help thinking the entire Jadon Sancho situation stinks suspiciously like a classic case of wanting a player out. I don’t know the ins and outs of it, but it seems to have blown up before the transfer window closed and to me, Manchester United have not really played this properly, with what appears to be quite a bit of briefing against their player.
"Look, he may well have not been training properly, as Erik ten Hag suggested. But I get the feeling there is more to it than that and I genuinely don’t think any party benefits from it all being played out in public.
"There are two things that every football club must take into account these days, if they are to do things properly. One is the mental health and wellbeing of players, which is a huge issue in football, and needs serious consideration.
