Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has lined up a new job, following in the footsteps of her fellow soap actress Gemma Atkinson. Brooke will take over Gemma's spot presenting on Hits Radio while the on-air presenter steps away to give birth. The actress, who played Sophie Webster on the long-running ITV soap, has co-hosted specials on the radio station before but will be taking over Gemma's weekday evening 4pm-7pm show from June 5.
Brooke said in a statement: "I am thrilled to be keeping Gemma's seat warm for her whilst she's away. "Brooke has two children — Mexx and Monroe — with her footballer fiancé Kean Bryan.
She added: "It's equally exciting and daunting to be filling in, but I love the Hits Radio family and can't wait to be on air, live from Manchester every day, chatting with Mike and all the listeners. "She will present alongside Mike Toolan for the primetime show.
