Idiotic tourists who abandoned their cars at the roadside to catch a glimpse of the Hogwarts Express train have been hit with fines by Highland police.
Drivers were slapped with £180 fines and even had their cars towed after abandoning vehicles near a blind corner on the A830 in Glenfinnan. The busy country road is a popular spot for Harry Potter fans to see the famous steam train pass over the Glenfinnan viaduct as it makes its way across the West Highland Line between Fort William and Mallaig.
Local officers are cracking down on drivers who have been caught illegally abandoning cars on the roadside. An increase in dangerously parked cars has forced other road users into oncoming traffic and caused some near-misses.
Police say they have also observed pedestrians, including parents with pushchairs, risking their lives by walking into the road for a better view.

A local Facebook page, Glenfinnan Monument NTS, posted a warning yesterday, Wednesday August 16, to visitors about parking at the side of the road and asked them to make alternative arrangements.
They said: "Today, some visitors to Glenfinnan went away around £180 poorer after the police gave them the choice of paying a fine or having their vehicle towed away.
"The reason? They chose to park dangerously, obstructively and illegally on a busy stretch of the A830, extending out into the road on a blind bend and clearway.
"This reduces the carriageway to a single-lane and when buses, lorries or motorhomes try to pass the parked vehicles, they come face-to-face with oncoming traffic.
