A child was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a Mercedes in Fife.
Emergency services were called to the collision on Bennochy Road in Kirkcaldy shortly after 7pm on Thursday, August 24.
Paramedics attended and a nine-year-old child was found seriously injured. The child was raced to Victoria Hospital for treatment.
The road was closed by police for around three hours to allow cops to investigate the crash. The force's probe into the incident remains ongoing.
Inspector James Henry, from Fife Road Policing, said: “Around 7.10pm on Thursday, August 24, emergency services were called to Bennochy Road, Kirkcaldy, following a report of a crash involving a Mercedes car and a nine-year-old child.
"The child was taken to Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy for treatment to serious injuries. The road was closed until around 10pm and enquiries into the circumstances of the incident remain ongoing.”
