Stockport's independent shopping scene has flourished over the past few years with a number of businesses opening in the town's historic quarter.
From plant shops and record stores to spots spelling magazines, gifts and sustainable fashion, the town has started to attract a weekend crowd in search of vintage gems and something a little different.
And while stores selling a variety of independent fashion and homeware items have popped up along The Underbanks, the town's historic mills are also playing host to Greater Manchester makers and creatives.

Last year, Miru Mill, a co-working hub for creatives, designed by creatives was set up in the heart of Stockport Old Town. Run by Emiko Studios, a slow fashion brand with its own shop on the Underbanks, it is located in a former cotton mill dating back to the early 19th Century.
The space offers permanent and hot desks for small business owners, creatives and young professionals, but also holds a small handful of events for like-minded businesses to get together. And this weekend, it will play host to the first Marigold Market, which is billed as a 'day of discovery and shopping' with some of Manchester’s best independent brands.
Taking place on Sunday, 23 June, from 11am until 5pm, there will be a number of independent businesses popping up at the space. There is a £1 entry to the event, which will be donated to medical aid for Palestine.
Brands include Floral Collective, Evie Joyness Studio, Emiko Studios and more will be in attendance, and shoppers can also pick up coffees and pastries from Polish bakery Sticky Fingers, wile uncovering some new Manchester businesses.
