An investigation is underway following a huge blaze at a building in Bury.
Firefighters rushed to the scene of the fire on Mount Sion Road in Radcliffe at around 6pm yesterday (Monday) as huge plumes of black smoke billowed from the blaze. The flames and smoke could reportedly be seen from miles around, with pictures capturing the thick plumes over the building.
Emergency services cordoned off a number of pathways and roads in the local area, as they urged residents to stay away and close their windows. A large number of fire crews tackled the blaze, which is believed to have broken out at Building Chemical Research Ltd.

This morning, firefighters remain on the scene dampening down hotspots. Police officers also remain on the scene with a cordon in place around the building.
Pictures show multiple police vehicles stationed on a nearby road. Both the fire service and Greater Manchester Police confirmed that an investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.
No-one was injured in the blaze, police said. No arrests have been made, the force spokesperson added.
In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 6.20pm this evening (Monday 24 July 2023) officers were called by the Fire Service to reports of a fire at a commercial property on Mount Sion Road, Radcliffe.
"Thankfully, no injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing.
