The family of a Scots carer who died after allegedly being stabbed at a residential facility for vulnerable adults say “no one should go to work and not come home”. The 54-year-old, named locally as Michele Rutherford, was badly injured during a reported ‘disturbance’ at Craighall Court in Stirling on Tuesday morning. Michele is understood to have been the care home manager since 2013.
She was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment but sadly passed away a short time later. Two other women, aged 29 and 58, who are understood to be co-workers of Michele, were also hurt during the incident.

Police say enquiries into the circumstances of the incident at the home, which cares for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and mental health struggles, are ongoing.
Cousin Louise Russell said: “So shocked to learn about this. No one should go to work and not come home. Michele you were the kindest soul and didn't deserve to go in this tragic way. Back in the arms of your mum and dad.”
She added: “All the family are still in a state of shock at the moment. Michele was an absolute gem, with the kindest soul and unfortunately this led her to her tragic death.”
On Thursday, a resident of Craighall Court told the Record: "I can’t believe it. Michele was a lovely woman. She’s done so much for this place and always wanted to help. She was caring and did a lot of good work.
"Everyone is shocked. We never expected anything like this to happen here." The sister of a resident living at the facility said staff and residents were still trying to come to terms with

Actor Brian Cox said he thinks Meghan Markle "knew what she was getting into" with the royal family and that her "ambition" of marrying "Prince Charming" factored into her choices.
