Ewan McGregor And Hayden Christensen Get Candid About ‘Star Wars’ Prequel Backlash: ‘I Found It Quite Hard’

Disney+ has moved the premiere date for its next Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Originally set for May 25, the streamer has pushed it back two days to May 27, the Friday before Memorial Day weekend, with a two-episode launch.

It’s been 17 years since Hayden Christensen was last seen in a galaxy far, far away, and the Vancouver-born actor recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about returning to his “Star Wars” role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the upcoming Disney+ series “Obi-Wan Kenobi”.

Australian actor Joel Edgerton will be seen reprising the role of “Star Wars” character Uncle Owen in Lucasfilm’s upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series starring Ewan McGregor as the iconic Jedi. Apple TV+ has handed a nine-episode series order to Dark Matter, an adaptation of Blake Crouch’s acclaimed sci-fi novel, with Joel Edgerton attached to star and executive produce and author Crouch to serve as writer and showrunner. Matt Tolmach (Jumanji franchise) also will executive produce and Sony Pictures Television will produce for Apple TV+.
