Hayden Christensen Opens Up About 'Surreal' Return to 'Star Wars' Universe in 'Obi-Wan Kenobi'

Hayden Christensen is gearing up for his return to the Star Wars universe!
If you didn’t know, the 40-year-old actor is reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader for the upcoming Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, 17 years after his last Star Wars appearance.
In a new interview, Hayden opened up about returning to the franchise and reuniting with Ewan McGregor – who is playing Obi-Wan Kenobi again in the series.

“It was mostly a lot of excitement because I had spent enough time with this character and felt like I knew him, and coming back to it felt very natural in a lot of ways,” Hayden shared with Entertainment Weekly. “And I was just really excited to get to come in and play Darth Vader at this point in the timeline because it did feel like a natural continuation of your journey with the character. And that was very meaningful for me.”
Hayden added, “The whole experience was very surreal. Just the nature of coming back after all this time. It’s such a unique opportunity — one that both Ewan and I were very grateful for.”
Hayden appeared as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in 2002′s Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and 2005′s Star Wars’ Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
Later in the interview, Hayden revealed what it was like getting back into his Darth Vadar costume.
“Well, without getting into too much detail, it was amazing,” Hayden said. “It’s a great honor to get to put that suit on.”
When it comes to spoilers, Hayden had to learn how to remain tight-lipped and not spill any details about the show.
