Australian actor Joel Edgerton will be seen reprising the role of “Star Wars” character Uncle Owen in Lucasfilm’s upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series starring Ewan McGregor as the iconic Jedi. Edgerton had a supporting role in David Lowery‘s fantastic film “The Green Knight,” and now he’s continuing his recent trend of tackling genre projects with plans to make another streaming series.

Netflix has dropped the first full trailer for its upcoming buddy cop action comedy, The Takedown. Lupin’s Omar Sy reteams with Laurent Lafitte in the follow-up to their 2012 On The Other Side Of The Tracks. In another reunion, Lupin director Louis Leterrier has the reins. John Lydon has spoken out against the newly announced Sex Pistols compilation, ‘The Original Recordings’.Universal Music are set to release the record, which contains 20 of the pioneering band’s recordings from 1976-1978, on May 27.Following yesterday’s announcement (March 30) of the compilation, a statement was published on Lydon’s Facebook page denouncing the record.“Universal Music Group have announced the release of a new Sex Pistols compilation entitled ‘The Original Recordings’,” the statement from the former Pistols singer reads.“For the avoidance of any doubt, John Lydon has not approved this compilation and does not endorse or support it.
Apple TV+ has handed a nine-episode series order to Dark Matter, an adaptation of Blake Crouch’s acclaimed sci-fi novel, with Joel Edgerton attached to star and executive produce and author Crouch to serve as writer and showrunner.
